St.Thomas School, Activity Day Awards

On Nineteenth of July, 2011, awards and certificates were given to students who had performed very well in the various competitions which had taken place on Activity Day. Some students who had achieved Laurels in the 12th. National Karate and Kickboxing Championships (2011) were also felicitated. A few photographs have been given below:

St.Thomas School Celebrates Founder’s Day

The St.Thomas school celebrated, Monday, the twenty-fifth of July as Founder’s Day on the occasion of Revd.Riddel’s Birthday. Revd. Doreen Riddel was instrumental in upgrading the Hindi Medium school for girls into the first English Medium Co-Educational school known as St.Thomas School, Jagadhri.
A special assembly was conducted, and there was the playing of a special song followed by a special prayer, singing of the song Happy Birthday, and thereafter teachers spoke about their fond memories and experiences under the leadership of Revd.Riddel. The Manager, Mr.S.M.Chauhan spoke about the meaning of Founder’s Day, Mrs.N.Singh gave us a historical perspective of the school, Mrs. Kavita Kumar said a prayer for the well being of Revd.Riddel, Mr.Patras, Mr.Anand Kumar, Mrs.Sharma, all spoke about their experience and memories of working under Revd.Riddel, the founder of the St.Thomas School in its present form. The principal also spoke a few words about the importance of selfless service to humanity as exemplified by Revd.Riddel. Given Below are a few photographs taken on the occasion:

St.Thomas School Activity Day-July,2011

The St.Thomas school observed yet another activity day today, on Saturday, the 16th. of July 2011. On this day, both students and their teachers had lots of fun because it brought about a much needed change from the daily routine! Some of the activities that took place were: Football matches, Salad-Making, Best of Waste (use of waste to make art items), debates, quizzes, poetry-recitation competitions in English and Hindi, hand-writing competitions, skits, amazing facts, and so on!
Both the teachers and the students took activity seriously and they came up with very innovative  ideas. A glimpse of some of the more interesting moments is given below:

St.Thomas School, Tree Plantation Drive

A tree plantation drive took place in the St.Thomas School today, the third of August, 2011. Saplings of the Ashoka tree were planted by the Manager of the school, Mr.S.M.Chauhan on behalf of the Chairman, the Rt.Revd.Sunil Singh, Bishop of the Diocese of Delhi (C.N.I.),Revd.George Lazar, the school Chaplain, Mrs.N.Singh, Mrs.E.Y.Masih, Mr.Rodrick R.Lal, the Principal, Mrs. Gupta, Mr.Patras, Mr.Dhansingh (retd.Physical Education Teacher), Mr.Balkishan, Mr.Dass, and Mr.Tyagi. A total of ten Ashoka trees were planted, four next to the boundary wall in the Junior Branch, two in the front porch of the entrance to the Senior School , and four trees were planted in the lawns of the senior block.
